Can You Hear Me Now?

Hey Loves! I've been doing some major reflection because I was feeling like I wasn't connected to my spiritual advisor. Don't be mistaken; I know He's there and I won't doubt that, but I just didn't FEEL Him like I usually did. On my end, it seemed as if we were having a poor connection on our phone calls. There were days when I couldn't find the words to pray and days where I just simply forgot to say my morning prayers. There was nothing majorly wrong with me, no overwhelming issues, or stressors, but I just couldn't seem to get my words out. #IssaStruggle Am I the only one who has ever felt that feeling? Some days I just had to say, "Lord, please just hear my heart."

I don't know if it was a spiritual attack to break the connection between me and my Father, or if it was a lesson for me to work harder for victory. Either way, I refused to be defeated and feel defeated. If you’ve ever feel like I felt, I found a cure! First, I had to make the declaration. Even when I couldn't find the words to pray, I knew enough to declare that my God is greater. If the devil thought that he could play with our reception or disconnect our phone calls, he's sadly mistaken. Second, there's power in song. Singing a song can also usher in the spirit. You ever listen to that one gospel song that just takes you there? My song is "Made A Way" by Travis Greene. It gets me up out of there EVERY time. By the end of the song when he switches from, "Don't know how, but you did it," to, "Don't know why, but I'm grateful," I'm always in tears. The Holy Spirit makes its way right on in. Jesus literally has to take the wheel because I'll be crying so hard that I can't see. Perhaps it's the reflection in those powerful statements. God makes a way for me every time, I don't know how He does it and I certainly don't know why He loves me so much, but Lord knows I'm beyond grateful. Third, immerse yourself in the word. Sometimes the answer to your problems will be the first verse you see when you open the bible. My favorite reminder is Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him..." And last, if at all possible, surround yourself with people that will uplift your spirit. My friends like to have conversations about how good God is. These conversations inadvertently bless me because they, too, welcome in the spirit.

So, I challenge you, my loves, to put the cure to the test. If you are feeling disconnected or if you can't find the words to pray, just one of the steps can improve your connection. I'm a living witness.
