The Peace of God

When you have experienced the peace of God, you have experienced a piece of God. There is nothing like the peace that God can give you in the midst of a storm. It’s like a heavy burden totally lifted off of you that has been replaced by a new boldness to move forward. Oftentimes people want peace, but don’t know how to find it. It actually seems quite simple, let go of whatever is stealing your peace and totally give that situation over to God. Not pray and continue to worry about it. Not pray and still try to handle it on your own, but pray and be still. When you are still and allow God to take FULL control, you experience peace.

Giving God full control sounds easy, but when you are a person who is normally on top of everything in your life and likes to be in control, it’s hard to give up that control even when you are giving it to God. Therefore, you must humble yourself, knowing that God knows way more than you would ever know. He knows what is best for you and He knows His plan for your life. Why not release the stress and allow the master to take control? There are simply things that are beyond our control. For example, the actions of other people. No matter how much we wish we could, we can’t control others. We are only accountable for our own actions. Therefore, don’t allow other people’s actions to burden you. Give it over to God. Pray about it and move forward.

We all would like to feel God with us everyday, and once you are saved, the Holy spirit is within us; however, we do not always allow for the Holy Spirit to control us. When we are bogged down with worry and fear, we aren’t allowing ourselves to experience that piece of God that gives us peace. Philippians 4:7 says “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Find your peace in God.
